The 2016 PGA Championship will be held from July 28th to 31st at Baltusrol Golf Club-Lower Course in Springfield, New Jersey, with a $10 million purse.

The top golfer from all over the world will meet as to determine the PGA Champion for 2016, including Austrialia’s #1 ranked player Jason Day.

When asked, players agreed that this championship will all be about accuracy and putting. “I think lag putting is going to be a big thing,” Rory McIlroy said. “If you have good speed on the greens, I think that’s going to be a big help.

“You’ve got to drive the ball straight for sure,” Mickelson said. “It doesn’t have to be long. If you notice, the great thing about Baltusrol is how the front of the greens are always open. You have an opportunity to run shots up.”

All said some top players have top expectations for themselves and for their followers on this tournament.

Final 2016 PGA Championship – Jimmy Walker wins

Yes it was a marathon, specialy with defending champion Jason Day on his tail since day 2, but Walker closed with a -3 (67) for a one-shot victory over Day.

“Sometimes, things just don’t come easy,” Walker said after hoisting the 37-pound Wanamaker Trophy, amazing that he had any strength left after a 36-hole final day brought on my rain over the weekend. “He really put it on me to make a par. Sometimes pars are hard. But we got it.

“It was amazing,” he said. “It was a battle all day.”

Day Two

Jimmy Walker (-9) keeps the lead tied with Robert Streb. Emiliano Grillo (-7) tied with Jason Day -7 on third. Huge leap by Streb playing -7 for the day followed by Jason Day with -5 for the day. Jimmy Walker played -4 for the day and Grillo played -3.

Day One

The current PGA Championship leaderboard shows Jimmy Walker in first place with Emiliano Grillo, Ross Fisher and Martin Kaymer tied for second. Jimmy Walker shot 65 to tie his career best round in a major.
