Stanley Cup betting – Finding Value

The early stages of the Stanley Cup playoffs have been outstanding. We’ve had overtime games. We’ve had chippy affairs and we’ve even had teams bouncing back from meltdowns. That said, NHL betting odds to win it all are constantly evolving. The oddsmakers are always trying to stay a step ahead of the betting public. But I believe that there’s value still to be had. Let’s take a look.

2018 Stanley Cup Betting Odds

San Jose Sharks odds: 10 to 1

The Sharks were quietly solid in the regular season. Goaltender Martin Jones had a so-so regular season. But he’s been stellar thus far in the postseason. This team has many players remaining from the edition that made the Stanley Cup final a couple of seasons ago. Throw in the fact that they’ll get Joe Thornton back at some point, and the Sharks have to be considered a good value bet for the cup at the moment.

Winnipeg Jets odds: 10 to 1

The Jets are one of the deepest offensive teams in the league. But after losing Tyler Myers on defense to an injury, some hockey betting experts are jumping ship. I wouldn’t Winnipeg has played through a ton of defensive injuries this season, so they know how to do it. After dropping a game in Minnesota, their value play for the cup is quite enticing.

Pittsburgh Penguins odds: 7 to 1

Really? You’re not going to favor the champs for the cup? Oddsmakers are crazy to shortchange Sidney Crosby. He has performed out of his mind thus far in the postseason. Pitt is healthier this year than in either season in which they won the cup this decade! How are they only 7/1 to win it all? Wow. Talk about an easy play if you’re looking to plunk down an NHL futures bet.
