NCAA Top 25 College Football Week 6 Recap

Our top 25 college football week 6 recap shows that the best bets were on the underdogs this week. Also three teams are out of the top 25 college football rankings as we move to week 7. Various changes in the top teams  in the poll for week 6.

On our week preview we predicted these games were going to be upsets:

#10 Miami Hurricanes vs 23 Florida State Seminoles
#15 Stanford Cardinal vs Washington State Cougars
#20 Oklahoma Sooners vs Texas Longhorns
#1 Alabama Crimson Tide vs #16 Arkansas Razorbacks

Well we got 2 out of 4 and actually Oklahoma barely got out of that game alive.

Top 25 College Football Week 6 Results

#1 Alabama vs #16 Arkansas 49-30

Alabama looked a little better this past weekend. They still do not convince me much. They will be facing #9 Tennessee next week, and #6 A&M the following week.

#2 Ohio State vs Indiana 38-17

The Buckeyes did not look that great on Saturday. Indiana’s defense held them to 3 points in the first quarter, soemthing you would not expect. Specially from a #2 ranked team agaisnt an unranked team. They will face the #8 Wisconsin Badgers who almost derailed the #4 Michigan Wolverines. This will be a match to watch.

#3 Clemson vs Boston College 56-10

This is more like it. This is how a number 3 ranked team takes on an unranked team. Clemson has grown stronger and could eaily be one of the teams in the Championship match. I believe that the only team standing between them and a perfect season are the #14 Florida State Seminoles. And that is unlikely to happen.

#4 Michigan vs Rutgers 78-0

Well poor all Rutgers has been blanked two weekends in a row. Last week 58-0 by Ohio State and now 78-0 by Michigan. Michigan, contrary to Clemson has yet to prove how good they are. They barely got out of a jam last week against Wisconsin (the first ranked team they faced).

#5 Washington vs Oregon 70-21

Washington is another team heading towards a great season, eventhough their schedule is pretty easy going forward.

#6 Houston vs Navy 40-46

This one we did not see coming. Houston has played so well. Then came Navy. Tied at 20 at the half, the third quarter was al Navy. Just look at the video.

#7 Louisville idle

#8 Texas A&M vs #9 Tennessee

Talk about a thriller game. I mean when #13 of the Vols strips the ball of the Aggies’ #5 Trayveon Williams, before entering the endzone: epic. Tennessee had seven turnovers, five of which were fumbles. Tied with 8 seconds to go, the Aggies missed what would have been the winning field goal. The game went into double overt time, before A&M could come out on top.

#10 Miami vs #23 Florida State 19-20

Ok, yes, we said it, yes we told you this was going to be an upset. Rivalries will always be rivalries and no matter if the other team is ranked way above or not the outcome comes from guts and glory. Actually the Seminoles were up with 1:38 to go and the Hurricanes scored a touchdown on 4th down and 5 to go. But the Noles had other plans… they blocked the PAT and the game was over.

#11 Wisconsin idle

#12 Nebraska idle

#13 Baylor idle

#14 Ole Miss idle

#15 Stanford vs Washington State 16-42

Finally. What we have been saying for various weeks. Stanford should not be in the top 25.

#16 Arkansas played Alabama

#17 North Carolina vs 25 Virginia Tech 3- 34

Another one we did not see coming. Blame it on the rain, yeah sure. Virginia Tech just ran over the Tar Heels and the rest is history.

#18 Florida vs LSU POSTPONED

#19 Boise State idle

#20 Oklahoma vs Texas 45-40

We predicted the Longhorns were going to pull this one off. Guess the defense is still as bad as the previous weeks. I mean they have allowed too many points. They will have to wait for next year.

#21 Colorado vs USC 17-21

Colorado came in last week and is out this coming week. USC on the other hand played nicely, but did not make it inot the top 25 for week 7.

#22 West Virginia idle

#23 Florida State played Miami

#24 Utah vs Arizona 36-23

Utah did not show much. They get the win, but did not convince that much

#25 Virginia Tech played North Carolina
