Selection Corner – Week 8 NFL Picks

No excuses, we had a week that requires us to step up our game this week. Which we will. There are a few football betting options on the Week 8 schedule that are both money-making and intriguing. So I’ll try not to dwell on the fact that the Falcons and the Bengals wet the bed and really let me down last week. I have the holes in the wall at home to prove it.

2017 Week 8 NFL Picks

Carolina Panthers at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-2)

Wait, the Bucs are favored in this one? What are we talking about here? The Panthers have notched some impressive wins this season. Yes, they had a bad week in Week 7, but it’s not like the Bucs are coming through right now, either. Tampa has no identity and so we love the Panthers to get back on the prowl. Take Carolina and the points.

Chicago Bears at New Orleans Saints (-9.5)

I am through doubting the Saints. Their D has been a joke for years. But they’re no longer a laughing stock. Drew Brees is rejuvenated knowing that he no longer has to score 50 points and be perfect to win. Give me the Saints and let’s lay this big spread.

Los Angeles Chargers at New England Patriots (-7.5)

The Pats are back. There’s no other way around it. Even if Danny Amendola doesn’t play New England has enough weapons to get the job done. The Chargers have won three in a row, but it’s been more a product of taking advantage of wounded teams. Lay the points and take the champs.

Oakland Raiders at Buffalo Bills (-2.5)

The Bills came through with a win in a trap game versus the Bucs last week. It wasn’t convincing. Meanwhile, the Raiders look to be slowly re-gaining their form. Oakland is more desperate and in the end that’s what will get the job done here. Take the Raiders and the points.

Last Week: 1-3
Season: 14-14
