Week 17 NFL Picks

Houston Texans at Tennessee Titans (-3)

The Texans have clinched a postseason spot despite a quarterback controversy, while the Titans have flushed their season down the drain. So it’s virtually a meaningless game for both teams. That said, this could be the first winning season that the Titans have had in a long time. I don’t think they’ll let that chance slip by the wayside. Sure, the Titans lost their QB and the game last week in Jacksonville, but bouncing back is part of their M.O. Lay the points and let Matt Cassel throw for the win.

Buffalo Bills (-5) at New York Jets

Now that Rex Ryan is gone the Bills can begin the healing. They had a divided locker room and weren’t nearly as aggressive on D as they could have been. Meanwhile, the Jets are begging for the offseason to begin. Give me the team with the better talent and running game here in December to win – even if it’s the tragic Bills.

Baltimore Ravens at Cincinnati Bengals (-2.5)

The Bengals have screwed many a bettor in this down year. Sure, they’re missing some key players but the pride factor hasn’t gone away. The Ravens have got to be mentally crushed after blowing a late lead last week with a division crown on the line. How much could they have left in the tank at this point? This is a straight home team play here. Take the Bengals in the jungle.

New York Giants at Washington Redskins (-7.5)

One team is already in the postseason and has nothing to play for, while the other team needs a win to get in. Hence the large spread. I can’t imagine that the G-Men will rest many players in a divisional game. But you never know. Still, Washington can pile up the points, it’s their D that we worry about. But with a berth in the postseason on the line you have to figure a home game against a rival will bring out the best in them. It’s a big spread but let’s go ahead and lay it for the big betting win.
