And then there were two. Only the Denver Broncos and Minnesota Vikings have been sure football betting money line options this year and remain undefeated. Everyone else has had their ups and downs – making this football week 5 betting picks column a must read this week. So let’s make some money, shall we?
Atlanta Falcons vs Denver Broncos (47.5 total)
For the first time this season, I’m calling out the over/under football betting option. Both the Falcons and Broncos have scored a bunch of points in their last couple of games. So everyone with a pulse is expecting more offensive fireworks in this game, right? Wrong. Early NFL bettors have pushed the total much higher than it should be. Remember, Denver’s defense is the great equalizer. Its strength is in stopping the pass. So expect Atlanta to be slowed down and the Broncos to grind out a ground game win. Pick the under and count your money.
Washington Redskins vs Baltimore Ravens (-4)
After an 0-2 start, Washington has come back to life. The defense is gelling and the offense, particularly the ground game, is coming around. Meanwhile, the Ravens were exposed at home last week against the Raiders. Baltimore’s first three wins were versus inferior teams and the wall has officially been hit. Give me the points and Washington.
Cincinnati Bengals (-1.5) vs Dallas Cowboys
We gave you Cincy as a win last week and now the club comes in with a few extra days rest. Watch out Dallas! The Cowboys have performed admirably without Tony Romo and Dez Bryant. But have they played a defense like this?
Expect Vontaze Burfict to run wild in Big D and for the Bengals to great on both sides of the ball. Rookie Ezekiel Elliott has been tremendous for the Cowboys thus far. But he’s also due for a bad game. All rookie have them eventually. Take Cincy and lay the road points.
Philadelphia Eagles (-3) vs Detroit Lions
Phenom quarterback Carson Wentz is due for a down game. But we don’t believe that it will happen following a bye week. The rookie first round pick looks like a veteran right now for Philly.
Meanwhile, the Lions look like they’re killing time until Jim Caldwell is shown the door. I was very high on Matthew Stafford earlier in the year, but I’m starting to lose faith. The Eagles are firing on all cylinders right now, offense, defense and special teams. Pick them and watch the away team swoop in and grab the victory.
