Texas Longhorns may not be ranked, but they will be facing #10 Notre Dame on Sunday as their first game of the season. What is all the fuzz? Nobody knows who the Texas QB vs Notre Dame will be. No one is talking.
No One Says a Word on Texas QB vs Notre Dame
The Longhorns held a press conference on Monday and eventhough almost everything was covered the QB question was never addressed, or simply faded away. We understand it is part of a strategy. The Longhorns, come from a 5-7 season in 2015, and a 38-3 loss to Notre Dame (with only 60 rushing yards).
According to Hookem, sports section blog of the Austin American Statesman “Strong said he knows who’s going to start, but that we (and Notre Dame) will have to wait to see which quarterback trots onto the field Sunday night.”
Media has asked every player, trainer, assistant coach and no one is saying a word. Coach Strong was asked 15 quarterback-related questions during Monday’s 34-minute press conference.
Senior LG Kent Perkins on the subject when asked by Hookem: “You can’t get that out of me,” said Perkins, a senior left guard. “Everybody asks me that question, but I can’t answer that question.”
But you do know, Kent?
“Yes, I do.”
He knows, but won’t be giving any answers.
