#1 Alabama vs Western Kentucky 38-10
Alabama was listed as a 30-point favorite at Bryant-Denny Stadium. The line moved a full six points from its opening position of Alabama -24. The Tide did not cover this one. Still AP Polls list them as #1 for Week 3.
#2 Clemson vs Troy 30-24
Clemson spread to win was -35, so at this point neither one of the two top spots covered the spread. Clemson gets backed in the AP polls to number 5 after this game.
#3 Florida State vs Charleston Southern 52-8
Florida State was a -59.5 favorite to win the game. As a result also FSU did not cover the spread. FSU is now ranked #2 for week 3.
#4 Ohio State vs Tulsa 48-3
Ohio State as a 28.5-point home favorite for Saturday DID cover. The Buckeyes have won each of their last 11 games as a favorite of 20 points or more. Ohio State Buckeyes move up one spot to #3 in the AP Poll.
#5 Michigan vs UCF 51-14
Central Florida Knights came in as a 35.5-point road underdog in Ann Arbor. The Wolverines covered the spread on this one again. Michigan also moves up one spot to #4 in the AP Poll rankings.
#6 Houston vs Lamar 42-0
The Cougars blanked Lamar but failed to cover the -48 spread as favorite estableshed previous to the game. At this point, and after beating Oklahoma last week Houston’s betting fans are 1-1. Houston moved from 15 to 6 in the AP polls from week 1, and remains at the #6 spot for week 3.
#7 Stanford was idle
#8 Washington vs Idaho 59-14
Washington rolled over Idaho, and the -26 points they were layiing were easily accomplished, therefore covering. Washington remains at #8 for week 3.
#9 Georgia vs Nicholls State 26-24
The -52.5 point favorite Georgia almost stumbled vs a fiery Nicholls State. The result of this game has sent the Bulldogs to the #16 spot in the AP poll ranking.
#10 Wisconsin vs Akron 54-10
After beating LSU last week, Wisconsin a -23 point favorite, crushed Akron to cover both the spread and the OVER. The Badgers also move up one spot to #9 in teh AP poll for week 3.
#11 Texas vs UTEP 41-7
After beating Notre Dame in double OT, the Texas Longhorns moved from unranked to #11. This week they covered the spread as -31 point favorites against UTEP and remain in the #11 spot for week 3.
#12 Michigan State idle
#13 Louisville vs Syracuse 62-28
After stomping Charlotte 70-14, the Cardinals run over Syracuse 62-28, covering the -16 point spread for the game. These two scores have made them now jump to the #10 spot in the AP poll rankings for week 3.
#14 Oklahoma vs Louisiana Monroe 59-17
The Sooners failed to cover the -46 points they laid as favorites on this game. Tey remain as #14 for week 3.
#15 TCU vs Arkansas 38-41
One of the two upsets of the week. The Horned Frogs were unable to win, less cover the -8 spread in this game. For week 3, TCU is kicked out of the Top 25 and Arkansas enters in spot #24.
#16 Iowa vs Iowa State 42-3
The Hawkeyes came in as -16 point favorites. The covered and with a second week scoring +40 points have moved to #13 in the AP poll rankings.
#17 Tennessee vs Virginia Tech 45-24
Tennessee managed to beat Virginia Tech and cover the -11 point spread. In the beginning this seemed as if it was not going to happen. Then in front of 156,990 fans at Bristol Motor Speedway—the largest crowd to ever watch a college football game in person, they came back and won. The Vols move two spots to #15 for week 3.
#18 Notre Dame vs Nevada 39-10
Notre Dame after losing to Texas on week 1 regain some spirit and covered the spread as a -28 point favorite. The Fighting Irish dropped from #10 on week 2 and will remain at #18 for week 3.
#19 Ole Miss vs Wofford 38-13
Ole Miss as a -43 point favorite failed to cover the spread, and remain on #19 for week 3.
#20 Texas A&M vs Prairie View 67-0
As a -49 point favorite the Aggies covered the spread. Unranked on week 1 jumped to #20 after defeating #16 UCLA. The Aggies move 3 spots to #17 for week 3 in the AP poll rankings.
#21 LSU vs Jacksonville State 34-13
The LSU tigers continue to dissapoint bettors as they do not cover for a second week in a row. They were -28 point favorites. The win though allows them to move to #20 for week 3 in the rankings.
#22 Oklahoma State vs Central Michigan 27-30
This is the second upset in the top 25 group. OSU was moved out of the rankings, the spot being filled by Arkansas.
#23 Baylor vs SMU 40-13
The Bears a -32 favorite did not cover. Still beating the Mustangs allowed them to move to the #21 spot, up two notches in the rankings.
#24 Oregon vs Virginia 44-26
The Ducks were -23 point favorites in the game, so they did not cover. The win though allowed them to move up two notches to # 22 for week 3.
#25 Miami vs Florida Atlantic 38-10
The Hurricanes as -25 point favorites did cover but stayed in the #25 position for week 3.
The Florida Gators entered the rankings at # 23 after beating UK 45-7
