Yes, the Adrian Peterson is no longer a Minnesota Vikings star. He has taken his talents down south to the New Orleans Saints, you know, that powerhouse running team? Exactly. So how are the NFL Super Bowl Saints odds changing? Peterson signing with the Saints drew some attention in NFL circles because AP is one of the best runners of all-time. But here’s the thing – the Saints don’t run the ball! Well, obviously they mix in the run, but it’s not head coach Sean Payton’s forte, to say the least.

NFL Super Bowl Saints Odds

Oddsmakers have the Saints at 33-1 to win the Super Bowl, and I don’t think they should be a lick better than that. After all, New Orleans is still a veritable wasteland of defensive players. Sure, defensive backs, linebackers and defensive linemen sign there – but does anyone ever hear from them again?

The Saints are a throw-first offense and Peterson is a run-first kind of running back. No one will ever confuse him with Marshall Faulk, or even Kevin Faulk for that matter. The guy is not known for his receiving prowess.

So he’ll probably end up as a platoon back on first and second down, and nothing more. It’ll be a sad way for one of the greatest of all-time to finish his career.

But at least we’ll have some fireworks early. Peterson and his new team take on the Vikings in Week 1! Talk about getting over the awkwardness right away. Wow. It’ll be a ratings bonanza, for sure.

But the bottom line is that Peterson will not be an impact player for the Saints, and his new team will not even make the playoffs.
