He is one of the best point guards of our generation. He is a born leader. Tough. Smart. Skilled. But he’s also oft injured and one of the players who has frustratingly not delivered on his promise. Many years have passed since CP3 was drafted and played in New Orleans. He’s had some amazing regular seasons. But he’s not quite gotten over the hump in the postseason. This year should have been that year. But alas, his body is simply cursed. An injury took it away from him again.

Where Will Chris Paul Sign And Play Next Season?

So where will Paul end up playing for the 2018-2019 season? The options are aplenty.

Houston

Sure, why not return to a team where you won 65 games in the regular season and were one half of basketball away from knocking out the defending champs? Paul and Harden mesh well together. The city embraced CP3 fully. So why move, right?

Cleveland

The Cavs would have to clear some cap room but yes, Paul could team with LeBron James and form an incredible veteran star duo that could take on the young East teams like Boston and Philadelphia. James was missing a second option and ball handler. Paul is that and more. To me, this is an intriguing one.

Clippers

Could the Clippers make a play for him and try to lure the man back to L.A.? Stranger things have happened. Paul did have some good years with the Clippers, who narrowly missed making the playoffs with a mix of vets and castoffs.

Lakers

It’s a longshot, but perhaps the Lakers would consider picking up Paul to tudor Lonzo Ball for a season. They certainly have the cap room.

Bucks

Could Paul consider playing with the Greek Freak in Milwaukee? Not having to face the Warriors in the first three rounds of the playoffs has got to be enticing to the veteran.

Sixers

You have to believe that Philly will talk to Paul this offseason if they can’t land LeBron James. Having Paul on board to tudor Simmons and even Fulz would certainly help both of their development for a season or two.

Verdict

It must feel like unfinished business in Houston. Paul would be best served staying put in Texas and building off of what the team accomplished this season. He should also play less minutes in the regular season to prepare him for the playoffs. Cross your fingers and hope he stays healthy, folks.
