This Saturday night, the Walter Pyramid in Long Beach will be having a fun fight night with 7 bouts in it.

The main event clash sees Gilberto “Zurdo” Ramirez come back trying to bounce with a victory after his title fight loss against Dmitry Bivol.

He will be facing Gabriel Rosado, whose record makes it seem like he is just spiraling downwards, as there have been 5 losses in his last 7 fights.

With Golden Boy Promotions co-promoting this event with Zurdo Promotions, we can kind of tell what is going on in what seems to be a tune-up fight.

We are not excited about this type of match, but we will nevertheless break down what should go down in this 12-round fight.

Why Bet on Gilberto Ramirez?

The 31-year-old Ramirez is a southpaw who became the first Mexican to capture a world super middleweight title when he beat Arthur Abraham via unanimous decision in 2016 for the WBO Belt.

He’ll enter the ring with an impressive record of 44-1 with 30 Ko’s with his lone loss coming to Bivol the last time out.

Ramirez possesses quite a bit of power in his fists with a current knockout ratio of 66.7 percent and his last five wins have come by stoppage.

He is a bit of an oddity for such a tall boxer though since he doesn’t always use his height to his advantage. Ramirez often prefers to work his way inside to engage instead of fighting at a safer distance.

Why Bet on Gabriel Rosado?

The 37-year-old Rosado carries a record of 26-16-1 with 15 Ko’s and has boxed 340 rounds since making his pro debut in 2006 following a short amateur career. He’s just shy of 6 feet tall and with a 71.5-inch.

Rosado’s not a powerful puncher despite his spectacular one-punch KO over Bektemir Melikuziev in June 2021, as his current knockout ratio is just 34.1 percent.

And even though he’s been stopped four times, Rosado is known to possess a pretty solid chin.

Final Betting Analysis – Gilberto Ramirez vs. Gabriel Rosado

Fans were disappointed in Ramirez’s performance against Bivol as the devastating puncher looked quite timid and lethargic as he didn’t let his hands go nearly enough.

He was too cautious and was easily outboxed. He likely won’t take that approach this weekend against Rosado due to Rosado’s lack of power and the fact his opponent is moving up to light heavyweight.

Ramirez needs to stick to his strengths which are aggression, size, and power, and simply go for it. He’s got a great chin and should be able to hand Rosado his fourth straight defeat and sixth in his last eight fights.

Ramirez’s power and natural aggression should make the difference.

Go for a victory for Ramirez at -5000. If you bet $100 at -5000 you’ll get $2 for a total payout of $102.
