This weekend was not a good start, as 3 top AP teams lost to the betting underdogs they were facing. Oklahoma, LSU and Notre Dame were upset this weekend and the thriller came in the last game on Sunday.

3 Top AP Teams Lost to Betting Underdogs

#3 Oklahoma Sooners vs #15 Houston Cougars

Houston gave Oklahoma a run for the money as they beat them 33-23 in a game where Houston was a clear dominant during all the game. Houstan had everything, even a 109 yd return by Brandon Wilson on a missed field goal. Their defense was impressive stopping Oklahoma from the second quarter on.

#5 LSU Tigers vs Wisconsin Badgers

Unranked Wisconsin came out and beat LSU 16-14, creating the second upset of the day to a top AP team on Saturday. This had not happen since 1972 (Nebraska and Arkansas).

On this game we saw at the end of the game how offensive lineman Josh Boutte went personal and attacked Wisconsin’s D’Cota Dixon as defensive safety sealed the Badgers’ 16-14 win with an interception. LSU issued a suspension of one game to the player.

#10 Notre Dame Fighting Irish vs Texas Longhorns

Notre Dame came in having beaten Texas in 2015 38-3. Texas had a secret on who would start as QB, and wanted payback. They got it. In a thrilling double OT game, were no team gave up. Texas used a true freshman Shane Buechele, the first since 1944, to start and guide the Texas offense. Tyrone Swoopes came in to crush the Notre Dame`s defense using his weight and size. The sincronicity Texas used with their two quarterbacks was impressive. Texas has proven they have a team in both defense and offense.

New NCAA College rankings will come out on Tuesday and definitively Texas, Texas A&M, and Wisconsin for sure will be in there.
