We separated a few fringe teams from the prospect of postseason action. Week 16 was also the week that we didn’t see a key long term injury happen. Thank heavens for small miracles. With one more regular season week left we can still pick up a few football betting tidbits.

2017 NFL Week 16 Betting Recap

-The Vikings are as good as they looked in Week 16. There is NO ONE in this league that I wouldn’t consider taking them against, and that includes for money line betting.

-The Ravens still scare me on offense. But with that D being as good as it is I guess they’re always in games. Still, I just don’t trust them to cover any spread as a favorite.

-Tennessee is plucky, we’ll give them that. But I don’t trust them versus the Jags in Week 17 – even with Jacksonville having nothing to play for.

-The Patriots are as ready for the playoffs as you can be. Period.

-I wonder what the Bears can do with a whole offseason for Trubisky to come in as the starter. As for the Browns, well, the whole team should wear brown paper bags when on the sideline.

-New Orleans is so well-balanced that they could be the dark horse of the postseason. For Atlanta, something about them is not right. It’s like their heart is missing.

-Kudos to Cincy for beating the Lions. But all they did was cost themselves a better draft pick. Detroit is the epitome of mediocrity. They just can’t get over the hump.

-Carolina had a trap game that they nearly blew. They’ll be fine in the final week, eager to sink their teeth into the Falcons.

-They’re back. It’s okay to trust the Chiefs again. The running game has returned and the defense has taken it up a notch.

-Washington is a tough team to figure out. If they don’t sign Cousins to a multi-year deal then they need to sell off all parts and start over. He is good, and he’ll prove it again in Week 17.

-San Diego is in grind mode. A nice rebound win on he road in a tough environment. Something to build on. I love them to clobber Oakland this week.

-All aboard the Jimmy Garoppolo bandwagon. I am riding him again in Week 17.

-Dallas is a mess. As long as Jason Garrett is the coach they’ll always underachieve, it seems. Meanwhile, the Seahawks have the heart of a champion and could be dangerous if they sneak into the postseason.

-Arizona is a tough team to figure out. Clearly, they’ll be looking to draft a QB, right? So why rack up wins late in the year?

-The Steelers beat up on an already beaten team. But with a seemingly meaningless game next week versus Cleveland the Browns could be a nice underdog bet.

-Philly is a prime candidate to break out in Week 17, as Foles has something to prove. Ride them this week, since he was terrible in Week 16 and will not to erase it with a good performance.
