Selection Corner – Week 17 NFL Picks

Well, here we go. The final regular season week of NFL betting. Let’s finish off the regular season on a winning football picks note. We were .500 last week, but Week 17 promises to be strong, as we see many predictable outcomes.

2017 Week 17 NFL Picks

Green Bay Packers at Detroit Lions (-7.5)

It’s been a disappointing season for both of these two teams. But with no Aaron Rodgers here we can’t help but think that the hometown Lions will roar and take out a year’s worth of frustrations out on the poor Pack. Detroit can still finish over .500 and cosmetically that looks a lot better than 8-8. There’s no way I’m ever putting any money on Hundley again as a starting QB. Give me Detroit and lay the points.

Dallas Cowboys (-2.5) at Philadelphia Eagles

Let’s take advantage of the resting factor here. The Eagles have clinched top spot. Sure, they’ll want to get Nick Foles some reps, but he won’t play the whole game. As for Dallas, they’re hopping mad at having blown their season the week before. Owner Jerry Jones won’t tolerate a losing effort here. Give me Dak and the Boys.

Kansas City Chiefs at Denver Broncos (-3.5)

It’ll be Patrick Mahomes against Paxton Lynch, as KC will rest a few players. That said, Mahomes is a promising rookie who many believe can be a star in this league. He’ll be looking to impress and take advantage of this playing time. Meanwhile, Lynch has looked overmatched in every appearance thus far in his young career. Give me the Chiefs in a surprising outright win.

Buffalo Bills (-3) at Miami Dolphins

The Fins have come up with a surprising win here and there, mainly on the strength of their defense. This feels like one of those spots. It’s a divisional game and Miami doesn’t want to help Buffalo stay alive for a postseason berth, that if they do get help from other teams on Sunday. Give me the home underdog Dolphins.

Last Week: 2-2

Season: 34-29-1
