NFL Week 5 – Preview and Free Picks

Last Updated on October 4, 2022 2:52 pm by Erwin Noguera

Week 4 of the NFL has just ended and, as usual, the actions do not rest, starting this Thursday, October 06, 2022, we will have the beginning of a new week of games, in which only 1 team has managed to reach undefeated after 4 games played, the Philadelphia Eagles, who continue to demonstrate that they are one of the strong candidates to play the next Super Bowl in February.

As in the first 3 weeks of the championship, the one that has just ended had several surprises that, although they are encouraging for NFL fans since other teams are joining the race for the championship trophy, many bets have fallen because favorite teams have not found the way to play at the expected level.

We also have to highlight the number of injuries in week 4, especially in the great victory of the Cincinnati Bengals over the Miami Dolphins that was overshadowed by the scary injury of the Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, who suffered a concussion and was taken to the hospital by ambulance.

Another case in point is the knee injury to Bronco’s star running back Javonte Williams, who in addition to being beaten by the Raiders, looks like they will be without Williams for a long time this season. As well as the first-round selection in the draft held in April by the Vikings, Lewis Cine, who had a fractured lower leg in the game against the Saints in London.

We experienced a lot of bad news in this week 4 of the NFL that, hopefully, will not happen again during the whole season.

Now, the Dolphins continue to lead the AFC East, now sharing first place with the BillsThe Chiefs are back to winning ways and are now firmly on top of the AFC WestThe Bengals moved into first place in the AFC North after their second consecutive victory.

In the NFC North, we have a very nice battle between the Vikings and Pacers, who are good at the beginning of the season and make us think that this will be the case all season long.

Now, next, we will have the preview of the best games that we can enjoy in this week 5 of the NFL with their respective betting odds and free picks.

NFL Week 5 – Preview – Broncos vs. Colts

When: Thursday, October 06 at 08:15 pm ET

Moneyline odds: Denver Broncos -198 / Indianapolis Colts +159 (Source: MyBookie.ag)

The game that will kick off this week 5 of the NFL will be between the Denver Broncos and Indianapolis Colts, which will be next Thursday, October 06, 2022, at Empower Field at Mile High, home of the Broncos at 08:15 pm ET.

The Colts fell short against the Titans in their game played on Sunday after defeating one of this season’s favorite teams, the Kansas City Chiefs in the third week. The Colts were limited to just 38 yards on the ground and were manhandled after three turnovers to finish with a 24-17 loss.

The Colt’s lack of consistency on both offense and defense was evident in this game, particularly for an offense that committed three costly turnovers.

On the other hand, the Denver Broncos also suffered one at the hands of the Las Vegas Raiders, who picked up their first win of the season. Their two starting running backs, Javonte Williams and Melvin Gordon, left the field with injuries and were limited to just 85 yards on the ground in the loss with a final score of 32-23.

Much of what a Broncos’ offense does depends on running the ball, especially with the “play action” that head coach Nathaniel Hackett wants to be part of an emerging big play. Williams was taken to the locker room early in the third quarter with a right knee injury.

For this game, we do not doubt that the Broncos will assert their home-field status and come away with the win.

Denver Broncos vs. Indianapolis Colts Betting Pick: Denver Broncos

NFL Week 5 – Preview – Panthers vs. 49ers

When: Sunday, October 09 at 04:05 pm ET

Moneyline odds: Carolina Panthers +210 / San Francisco 49ers -260 (Source: MyBookie.ag)

Where Can I Watch? CBS / ESPN / Fox Sports.

An exciting game awaits us this Sunday, October 09, 2022, when Carolina Panthers vs. San Francisco 49ers face off at Bank of America Stadium, home of the Panthers at 04:05 pm ET.

Throughout the history of these matchups, we have the home side leading the series by a razor-thin margin of 13 wins to the 49ers’ 9.

The Panthers are playing at a terrible level at the beginning of the season and, they have to find a way to reverse this situation to put an end to their losses in this game against the 49ers and avoid falling further away in the NFC South.

The main problem for the Panthers has been their offense, which has not been performing adequately, and, because they are not on the field long enough, they are starting to wear down a very good defense.

On the other hand, the San Francisco 49ers come into this game with confidence and extra inspiration, after a crushing victory on Monday Night Football against the Los Angeles Rams with a score of 24-9.

In this game, the 49ers had Jimmy Garoppolo, their quarterback who achieved 16/27 passes with 1 touchdown. We must also highlight the good work of the running back Jeffrey Wilson who had 18 carries for 74 yards and 1 touchdown and, of the receiver Deebo Samuel who had 6 receptions, for 115 yards and scored 1 touchdown.

For this game, our winner’s chip is for the visitors, the San Francisco 49ers, and we could give an extra prediction at SPREAD -5.5 for the 49ers.

Carolina Panthers vs. San Francisco 49ers Betting Pick: San Francisco 49ers

NFL Week 5 – Preview – Bills vs. Steelers

Moneyline odds: Buffalo Bills -901 / Pittsburgh Steelers +670 (Source: MyBookie.ag)

Before the start of this 2022-23 season, we could have assumed that a game between Buffalo Bills and Pittsburgh Steelers would be high voltage and that both teams would have a chance to win, but right now we have one team extremely superior to the other, and which is expected to achieve a comfortable victory.

The NFL Week 5 matchup between the Buffalo Bills and Pittsburgh Steelers will be next Sunday, October 09, 2022, at Highmark Stadium, home of the Bills at 01:00 pm ET.

Unlike what was predicted before the start of the season, this start for the Steelers has been terrible, they have not been able to find the formula that will lead them to victory and their offensive problems have left much to be desired in their performances, as they have recorded only six offensive touchdowns during the first four weeks of the season.

Despite that, rookie quarterback Kenny Pickett made a good impression in Week 4 with two touchdowns after coach Mike Tomlin took veteran Mitchell Trubisky out of the game at halftime.

On the other hand, we have the opposite side of the coin, the Buffalo Bills, a team that continues to prove that they are favorites to make it to the Super Bowl and be the next NFL championsThe Bills will be playing their second home game of the season against a much inferior team. They defeated the Titans by a score of 41-7 in Week 2.

Buffalo is coming from a spectacular game where they managed to come back against the Ravens, where it was down 20-3 in the second quarter and managed to score 20 consecutive points to take the victory with a score of 23-20.

For this game, we do not doubt that the Buffalo Bills will win, and we also make the selection for the SPREAD -14 to the Bills.

Buffalo Bills vs. Pittsburgh Steelers Betting Pick: Buffalo Bills

Moneyline odds: Arizona Cardinals +182 / Philadelphia Eagles -227 (Source: MyBookie.ag)

We close out the NFL Week 5 preview with the Arizona Cardinals vs. Philadelphia Eagles Game, which will be played this Sunday, October 09, 2022, at the University of Phoenix Stadium, home of the Cardinals at 04:24 pm ET.

The Cardinals got back on track in Week 4, winning 26-16 against an underdog Carolina Panthers. Kyler Murray threw for 207 yards and two touchdowns on 23/32 pass completions, while Marquis Brown scored 1 touchdown later on 6 receptions for 88 yards.

Before limiting Baker Mayfield and his Carolina Panthers to just 16 points, the Cardinal’s defense had conceded an average of 31 points in their first three games of the season. Including a dreadful 44 points to the Kansas City Chiefs in the season opener.

On the other hand, we have the only team that remains undefeated after 4 weeks of the NFL seasonthe Philadelphia Eagles, who this Sunday recovered from an initial 14-point deficit to defeat the Jacksonville Jaguars at home by a 29-21 score, highlighting the ground performance of Miles Sanders with two touchdowns.

Thanks to this victory, the Eagles have a 4-0 record and undoubtedly lead the NFC East.

For this game, we believe that the Philadelphia Eagles will continue with their winning streak, and we also predict Over 49.5 (-110).
