Stanley Cup Odds – Can the Rangers Win it All?

Well, here we go again. The New York Rangers sure have had some highs and lows in this NHL postseason. It’s so tough to know whether or not they’re a good NHL picks option. New York led and then trailed in the first round versus the Montreal Canadiens, but came back and won the series.

Rangers Stanley Cup Odds

Now, the Blue Shirts have erased a 2-0 series deficit versus the Ottawa Senators. They’ve done it with a resurgent Henrik Lundqvist in goal. Currently, Rangers Stanley Cup odds have New York as an 8-1 bet to win it all. In fact, the Rangers are now even favorites in Saturday’s Game 5 tilt in Ottawa.

So, all this to say that picking them to win the cup is smart, right? Wrong. I don’t believe in this team and neither should you. The Rangers have not shown consistency, nor a progression of overall play that is required to win 16 NHL postseason games. Sure, they have a veteran team and some of the pieces to win the big one. But so do a few other clubs in these playoffs.

I believe that Ottawa will hold serve at home and take Game 5 on Saturday, where they have been fantastic in these playoffs. In my opinion, the only bet worth taking when it comes to the Rangers is possibly them winning Game 6. But Ottawa in 7 is the play here.
