Selection Corner – Week 5 NFL Picks

Now that’s more like it! We had a great Week 4 (3-1), as our vision for most games played out. Now we turn the NFL betting corner and take it up a notch with another fresh batch of Selection Corner football picks.

2017 Week 5 NFL Picks

Jacksonville Jaguars at Pittsburgh Steelers (-8.5)

The Jags have been the most difficult team to figure out from an NFL betting perspective this season. They’ve been so incredibly up and down. As for Pittsburgh, they have had their struggles at times but are coming off their best game of the season. Still, it was one game. And since Jacksonville has shown flashes of competence this year we’ll take the points here. Grab the Jags.

Arizona Cardinals at Philadelphia Eagles (-6)

Philly has been pretty consistent this season. And Arizona has struggled to remain competitive throughout. The Eagles are displaying a balanced attack and a very good defense. Arizona is so hot and cold, and continues to search for an identity on offense. Let’s lay the points and take the better team. Take the Eagles.

Carolina Panthers at Detroit Lions (-2.5)

This feels like a major letdown game for the Panthers. They defeated New England on the road last week and rose to prominence, after a few underwhelming performances, even in wins. Detroit won on the road in impressive fashion last week and has to keep pace with the Packers. Give me the Lions and lay the points.

Kansas City Chiefs (-1.5) at Houston Texans

This might be the game I like the most on the Week 5 schedule. The Chiefs are undefeated but are coming off a short week. They played Washington last week who tested them well – maybe giving other teams a bit of a blueprint. The Texans are only .500 and are in badly need of a win to keep pace in their division. I love me some Deshaun Watson this week. Take the home dog Texans here.
