Kentucky Derby 2019 – Every Stupid Tweet and a Few Really Good Ones

It’s not often that a horse is disqualified from the Kentucky Derby, but Saturday evening the unthinkable happened.

Country House was declared the winner of Saturday’s Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs after the second disqualification in the race’s 145-year history. Maximum Security crossed the finish line first in 2:03.93 but was moved to 17th place after a lengthy review.

Then all of the horse racing experts, I mean the folks who watch a Horse Race once a year went all batshit crazy on Twitter.

As we’re providing a service to our reading public, we took the time, time that we’ll never get back to round up some of the best of the best and the best of the stupid tweets that made up reactions to the Kentucky Derby 2019.

What Actually Happened at The Kentucky Derby?

Maximum Security, ridden by Luis Saez, led with 5/16ths of a mile to go when he veered into War of Will.

This forced Long Range Toddy jockey Jon Court to check his horse.

Long Range Toddy finished 16th, which led to Maximum Security being placed 17th in the 19-horse field.

But it’s fair if the disqualified party broke the rules? Isn’t that how rules work?
Yes Jay – because those are called the rules. Pro tip: They’re different for different sports.

In the most bizarre commentary of all, the President of the United States weighed in on the race. We. Don’t. Understand. Why.
